New Councillors Needed for Sidmouth South, East & Salcombe Regis Wards

Voters have requested a further election in the South Ward of Sidmouth Town Council following the resignation of Vice Chair of Council Paul Wright, who has moved out of the area. Paul served on the Town Council for five years since 2015 and as Vice Chair since 2019.

Chair of Sidmouth Town Council, Councillor Ian Barlow commented, “Paul brought a calm and level head to the Council with a very personable and measured approach in everything he worked on. His IT skills and knowledge have been particularly beneficial with various projects he has been involved in. He will be very much missed”.

Voters have now requested an election to fill this vacancy.

Voters had already requested elections in the East and South & Salcombe Regis Wards of Sidmouth Town Council following the resignations of Louise Thompson, John Rayson and David Barratt.

Under current COVID legislation there are no elections in the UK until May 2021 at the earliest unless the legislation changes. For enquiries contact the Returning Officer at East Devon District Council by email at  electoralservices@eastdevon.gov.uk.
